Tssaros is around two and a half years old, and from the moment we walked into the shelter he was on his feet, tail going, leaning against legs like he'd been waiting all morning for company. There was no shyness, no hesitation — just a soft, friendly boy who clearly loves people.

What surprised us most is how much he already knows. Sit, paw, the little tricks that don't come from a shelter — someone, somewhere, sat on a floor with him and taught him. You can feel it. He was loved once. And whoever that person was, they raised a really good dog.

The honest part: Tssaros is leishmania-positive. It sounds scarier than it is. With daily medication — about €80 a month — leishmania-positive dogs live long, full, happy lives. He's not contagious to humans or other pets. What he needs is an adopter (or a long-term sponsor) who understands the commitment and is willing to keep his treatment going.
