You get the photos, the vet reports, the foster updates, the airport pickup video. It's the closest thing to adopting without bringing a dog home. Intake & emergency vet (€80–€220 depending on condition). Sterilization, vaccines, microchip (€120). 4–8 weeks of foster care or kennel + food (€90). Behavioral assessment and basic training (€60). Adoption matching, contract, home check (€40). EU pet passport and transport to adopter (€80–€180). Total: typically €470–€690 per dog. Sponsors fund the whole arc, or split it with one or two others.
Theo found us through a Reddit thread while recovering from surgery. He couldn't get a dog of his own — couldn't even leave the apartment for 8 weeks.
